ABOUT US
Successfully helping students since 1995, the Learning
Garden is a San Diego tutoring center specializing in gifted and
remedial learning and test preparation studies. We serve students
of all ages, pre-school through adult. Some of the services provided

Standardized and unique diagnostic testing, to pinpoint specific
areas of learning that may need to be enhanced.
Utilization of a substantial database of past entrance examinations
for private, graduate, and other specialized educational institutions.
Individualized instruction that is skill based by qualified teachers.
Consistent communication with the regular day school teacher to
ensure that the tutoring program is supporting the classroom instruction.
Consulting services on topics such as the choice between public
and private schools, including which schools are most suitable
for a given student’s academic abilities, socialization,
and economic situation.
Advise to parents regarding how they can help their children’s
educational achievement, and behavior management strategies in
the home.
The Learning Garden’s principal owner and operator, Allison
Gardenswartz, has been an educator for over 13 years, and has experience
in both teaching and diagnostic testing of students of all ages
and ability levels. In particular, Allison has expertise in identifying
and enhancing the learning abilities of school-age children. Erektionsprobleme im Alter
Allison earned her teaching credential and bachelor’s degree
in Public Affairs from the George Washington University. While in
Washington, D.C., Allison got her first taste of the public school
system by teaching in Washington D.C.’s inner city public
high school system. She also worked as a teacher for the Close-up
Foundation, a non-profit organization that brings public school
students to the nation’s capital to learn about U.S. Government

As a fully credentialed middle school and high school teacher,
Allison taught for several years in the public school system in
Atlanta, Georgia. In Georgia, Allison completed graduate coursework
specializing in adolescent education and the instruction of reading
to students in middle school. In 1993, Allison moved to San Diego,
where she became the Director of Education for a nationally franchised
learning center. Since 1995, Allison has owned and operated the
Learning Garden, where she focuses her time on providing more individualized
instruction to her students, and extensive consulting services to
parents and other adult learners.
Allison is also a full time mother to her two small children, and
fully appreciates the constraints placed on working parents. Allison
shares a love in her work, and provides a much needed service to
the San Diego community.
